Family Private Care Applauds New Florida Law

Florida House Bill 7069, passed by the Florida Legislature and signed by Governor Crist this past spring, requires that, starting August 1, 2010, all caregivers serving clients in Florida pass a Level 2 criminal background check. The previous law required a Level 1 screening by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. The new Level 2 requirement involves a fingerprint screening by the FBI and subsequent review by AHCA (Agency for Health Care Administration). Family Private Care applauds this new law, believing it will further increase the safety of Florida residents.
