What To Expect

Choosing Your Caregiver

We believe that Family Private Care serves our clients with a different philosophy of care and caring. Here's how:

Caregivers Matched with Client Needs. Our Referral Coordinators, in conjunction with our Intake Department, use their expertise to match you with a certified, qualified caregiver. Our Coordinators have a long track record of referring care providers who not only meet, but exceed, our clients' expectations. They then use their expertise to match you with an Independent Contractor who will not only meet, but will exceed, your expectations.

If desired, we encourage you to meet your caregivers in advance (a fee will apply). You'll have the opportunity to interview any caregiver whom we refer to you. You'll never have to accept a caregiver that you do not feel totally comfortable with. When you interview potential caregivers, you will be pleasantly surprised to see that at Family Private Care, character and compassion matter!

Naturally, every caregiver Family Private Care refers has a current license and/or certificate and a clear criminal background checked through the Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE). In addition, all of the caregivers on our Registry are required to provide a comprehensive work history, including verified personal and professional references (home care agencies, nursing homes, religious organizations, hospices, assisted living communities etc.). It is most important to us to put your needs first. We will only refer a caregiver to you who has the necessary experience and disposition to fulfill your loved one's individual needs.

Free Initial Consultation with a Registered Nurse. The clinical expertise of our Start-of-Care registered nurses assures you that your loved one's wants and needs will be fulfilled. At Family Private Care we believe in the value of clinical expertise in our initial assessments and ongoing visits and communication with our Nurse Administrators.

"Get Acquainted" Visits. We strive to match client to caregivers, personality to personality. We try to find those individuals who will serve our client families as if they were their own. But, we know that ultimately, you are the best judge. At Family Private Care, we encourage clients to evaluate their caregiver by having them work for them for the appointed period of time or "shift". This time gives both parties appropriate time to get to know one another and see how the caregiver performs. If for any reason you are not 100% comfortable with the match, we will arrange for another caregiver, no questions asked.

One Point of Contact. In a perfect world, your caregivers would never fail to please. In a perfect world, your family would never experience a crisis. In a perfect world, problems wouldn't arise, and if they did, they would have the courtesy of cropping up weekdays during business hours.

Unfortunately, we don't live in a perfect world. Eventually, even with the best Nurse Registry, you may have a problem. When you do, that's when Family Private Care rises to the occasion.

Every client has a Community Director (skilled nurse) who remains in close contact with the client and the caregiver to handle any and all questions, comments, concerns or even praise, feel free to share that information with the Community Director.
